Our structure and governance
The United States Seafood Industry Association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised entirely of our members.
The United States Seafood Industry Association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised entirely of members of the Association. Our first Board is appointed by the Incorporators, and all subsequent Boards will be elected by the membership. The Board selects its Officers, the Executive Committee, and the Standing Committee on Ethics. Other Committees, advisory panels, and working groups can be created by the Board for specific purposes.
Because of the large scope of membership in USSIA, the structure and mechanics of the Board of Directors are being considered by an Ad-Hoc Governance Advisory Panel, which will report its recommendations to the Board of Directors for their consideration and adoption.
Members with an interest in participating in the leadership of USSIA can nominate themselves for appointment or election to the Board at any time. Details are available on our member website or by contacting us.
We value good ideas, positive contributions, and people that can help shape USSIA as the definitive organization representing the entirety of the U.S. domestic seafood industry.
As the Ad-Hoc Governance AP and Board makes progress, details and documents will be published at this page.
